It all started with a Wolf Pack...

...and the movie "The Hangover". I'm sure you've seen it. If not, go watch it, I'll wait.
...
...
...
OK, so you know the part where Allan is toasting the four guys on the rooftop and he calls himself a one man wolf pack, then proceeds to add the 3 guys to his wolf pack?
Yes?
Well I have that.
Except we're 4 women. And we've never been to Vegas. Or left one of us on a rooftop for 24 hours.
Other than that, we're just like them. We stick together, love each other, support each other and most importantly, laugh at each other. ;-)
It's that love and support that got me started on this journey 6 months ago. Gamma Ray (that's her wolf pack name. there is also Alpha Star, Delta Force and me, Beta Fox) taught us everything she learned at a coupon class, allowing us the means to save anywhere from a few dollar up to 80% off our grocery and drug store purchases.
I took the information and RAN with it, creating a coupon binder and organizing my coupons, shopping savvy and saving myself a nice chunk of change.
After a couple months, I noticed I was putting on even MORE weight and realized it was from all the processed, boxed and canned foods I was eating because I could get them CHEAP. I mean SUPER cheap. For pennies, sometimes even free. How can I turn away from all those fantastic deals though?
Simple.
I want to be healthy. I want to live a long, happy life. Oh, and I want to be healthy. I want to shop in the "normal" size section at a store. Did I also mention that I want to be healthy? Yeah.
So, right on time, Alpha Star decides it's time for us to do a "Biggest Loser" style competition. In August, right before the competition started, I reached my highest weight ever. Now comes the hard part...to tell you what it was...ok, I think I'm ready.
I was 312 pounds.
*gasp*
Seriously?
I couldn't believe I had allowed myself to get so out of control.
Time to fix this.
I competed admirably in the competition, coming in 9th out of 22 initial contestants, losing a total of 20.4 pounds in 8 weeks. I've since lost another 9.6, bringing my current total to 30 pounds lost. And I've done it all feeding 4 adults on a budget of $125/week.
How have I done it?
Follow me and I'll share my successes both on the scale and in the store.
Thanks for reading,
Beta Fox
